Organic Turmeric Root
Winning the award for most popular herb 2016 is Organic Turmeric Root. More and more research into this wonderful medicinal herb is revealing the scientific explanations for its therapeutic qualities, which have been known for thousands of years in Ayurvedic medicine.
Grown in ideal conditions in Nepal, this organic turmeric root is made into chips and dried, making it an ideal addition to herbal tea blends. Yes, it has a wild orange yellow colour and will stain most things that it comes into contact with. Organic turmeric root is renowned for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and hepato-protective (liver protecting) qualities. Turmeric has been used historically in Ayurvedic and Western Herbal Medicine for the liver, the skin and the cardiovascular system. But, the benefits of this herb do not end just there, there is anecdotal evidence to suggest that organic turmeric can be used for those with respiratory conditions and joint conditions too.
As with all herbs and natural remedies, we suggest using our potent organic turmeric chips with caution if you are using any prescription medication. Those with diagnosed gall stones or who are using blood thinning medications should avoid using this herb. If you are unsure about this herb, we encourage you to speak with our Herbalist and Naturopath at our health centre in Lismore or speak with your local whole health practitioner before using this herb.

I personally find turmeric tea (with whole black pepper) is better than pills. However, making tea with powder turmeric is such a mess to strain. But this turmeric dried in smaller chipped time stone like pieces is perfect for making turmeric tea as you can strain it easily
