Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Color Correct Review
Posted on 04 May 2016 by Marie Hunter
The first colour correct moisturiser with Alpine Rose Stem Cells, Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Color Correct cream is designed to provide sheer coverage with SPF and a slight tint to create a flawless complexion.
Can one product really do so many things?
At first glance it is easy to be a little overwhelmed with the talents of this natural skin care product from Andalou Naturals. Providing moisture, tint and SPF for sensitive skin, Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Color Correct performs surprising well, and within budget too.
The Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses skin care range is designed with sensitive skin in mind, and, as you would have guessed, it contains a whole lot of roses. This sensitive skin care range relies heavily on Alpine Rose Stem Cells and Magnolia and Damask Rose to create a smooth and non-irritating range of products. I have tried a few products in this 1000 Roses range from Andalou and they all have a distinct rosy aroma and silkiness that is not at all overpowering.
As a light, but quite hydrating natural moisturiser, Andalou Color Correct cream feels smooth on my skin, but not greasy. The combination of aloe vera and jojoba make this natural skin care product suitable to wear under makeup and also good to use as a stand alone product.
The sheer nude colour of Andalou Naturals Color Correct is suitable for my quite fair coloured skin. Unlike other face moisturisers with SPF, this product has a nice natural colour without being overly white. Blending this product as you would a liquid foundation is easy with the smooth texture of this product. For me, the tint of this product gives me a bit more of a healthy glow, but the matt texture makes my skin look natural.
The natural screening agent in Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Color Correct is zinc oxide, which provides a physical barrier from the sun. Although providing SPF 30, this product is surprisingly not greasy or thick in texture, which is what I would generally expect from a natural skin care moisturiser with SPF. As with all natural sunscreens, this product would need to be re-applied after some time to ensure adequate protection from sunburn.
My Experiments with Andalou CC Cream
With such a versatile skin care product, it is understandable that there are several different applications for use. With my observations, Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Color Correct is great to use as a stand alone product (my preference) it provides adequate coverage during the day and can also be used as a base for application of mineral powder foundation.
As I am fond of just using only a face oil as a moisturiser, I was apprehensive about applying this over my regular face oil, however, I found that there was no heaviness when used this way. I also experimented with using this product under liquid foundation and while I still found it suitable, this would not be my personal preferred option, however those who like to have a base coat moisturiser under their regular foundation may find this an ideal combination.
Where I envisage this product would be a problem is in situations where you would be in direct sunlight for a prolonged period of time. As this product has a tint, there could be a tendency to under apply - I would suggest a good wide brimmed hat to protect your skin from sun damage.
In Conclusion ... Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Color Correct
After my initial apprehension with this product seeming like an all in one product, I have been quietly surprised with this product. Not only is it easy to use, it smells lovely and for those who prefer light daytime coverage with added SPF - this product is a real treat. For those seeking a vegan, cruelty free CC cream or moisturiser with SPF this product is an excellent choice. Also for those with sensitive skin, wanting to stick to a budget (but not compromise on quality) Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Color Correct is sure to be a wise addition to many beauty routines.
