Using Vrindavan Clove Oil - A Natural Mould Treatment
Posted on 19 May 2017 by Vanessa King
Got mould? Get Vrindavan Clove Oil, a natural essential oil that can help to rid your home of dangerous mould safely and naturally – and it smells good too. You may have noticed mould or musty smells in your home after periods of rain or high humidity, particularly in the bathroom and under the kitchen sink. This can be dangerous to your health, doubly so if you choose to clean with toxic bleaches that really only cover up the problem.
A great choice for natural mould control, clove oil actually kills the mould spores rather than just bleaching them. Just add ¼ teaspoon of Vrindavan Clove Bud Essential Oil to 1 litre of water, spray the area and let sit for 20 minutes or overnight before wiping clean. This can be done regularly to inhibit mould growth and there's no need for toxic chemicals and bleaches to be used.
Diffuse a few drops of Vrindavan Clove Bud Essential Oil to kill any floating mould spores and enjoy a warm and spicy aroma throughout the house. You can even add a couple of drops of clove oil to jumbo chalk sticks and place them in your cupboards or your shoes, renewing the oil as needed.
Other uses for Vrindavan Clove Bud Essential Oil include:
- Oral care - clove oil contains eugenol, an antiseptic and anaesthetic that fights bacteria and pain resulting from toothache, tooth decay and cavities.
- Gargling with a dilution of clove oil can ease a sore throat or eliminate bad breath.
- A few drops mixed with a carrier oil result in a warming massage oil and is great to ease joint of muscle pain too.
- As an insect repellent
- Mix clove oil with with essential oils of cinnamon and ginger for a spicy potpourri to freshen up your home.
Please note, in our health centre in Lismore, we also have bulk clove oil (for those bigger mould cleaning jobs).
