How Flower Essences Can Help With Detoxification

Posted on 27 September 2016 by Leonie Satori

The warmer weather brings with it an energy of cleansing and Spring cleaning. When we think about Spring cleaning our body, Flower Essences can play a surprisingly beneficial role in natural detoxification.

For those who are unfamiliar with detoxification, I suggest reading our article: Detoxification - What is it all about? And do I really need to do it? before continuing with this article.

Flower Essences BottlebrushFor many people, natural detoxification involves a gradual progression to lighter and easier to digest foods, some gently cleansing herbs and a general movement away from toxin laden substances. However, many who are familiar with the work that I do in my naturopathic clinic will know of my fondness for incorporating Flower Essences into treatment programs.

What Are Flower Essences?

Flower Essences are vibrational remedies that can help us to work through emotional patterns. Flower Essences are non-invasive and subtle enough for use in conjunction with prescription medicines and also suitable for use with the elderly, children or even with your pets. Flower Essences can help us to address emotions which may be unavailable to access with conventional counselling, and also work well in conjunction with this type of therapy. While the first documented Flower Essences were popularised by Edward Bach and his Bach Flower Essences in the UK, there are now Flower Essences originating from throughout the world. At Sundala Health we use a combination of Bach Flower Essences, Australian Bush Flower Essences and Living Essences (from Western Australia).

My experience with using Flower Essences both for myself and in clinic has lead me to an experiential understanding of these natural remedies. Selection of appropriate Flower Essences for an individual can involve several different methods, however the outcome with using the Flower Essences is an individual experience.

Flower Essences and Detoxification

Using Flower Essences to aid in detoxification, among other things can help with cleansing old habits, enable the individual to be open to new ways of thinking and can help to ease the transition away from patterned behaviours that are no longer serving them.

The Flower Essences listed below form part of the Australian Bush Flower Essence range and are some examples of Flower Essences that may help an individual with cleansing and detoxification.

Bottlebrush Australian Bush Flower Essence

Often in full bloom at the start of Spring, Bottle Brush used as a Spring clean flower essence is excellent for cleansing old habits and promotes an environment for change. Also a good bowel tonic, Bottle Brush flower essence helps to 'brush away' the past and move forward to new experiences in life.

Isopogon Australian Flower Essence

Enabling us to access old knowledge and learn from our experiences, Isopogon flower essence is great for people who are caught in a cycle of repetition. Isopogon allows the user to review, learn and move on from their experiences. A lovely remedy for learning from your mistakes and moving forward.

Banksia Robour Australian Flower Essence

We all go through periods of time where we feel our energy is in a slump. Used as a flower essence remedy, Banksia Robour helps to renew enthusiasm and interest in life. Great to use in conjunction with a healthy lifestyle, Banksia Robour relieves temporary tiredness or feelings of disappointment. A great remedy for 'washing away' negativity and invigorating the spirit.

Red Grevillea Australian Flower Essence

Often with cleansing and detoxification, it can be difficult to instigate beneficial changes. Red Grevillea flower essence brings about change and healing through encouraging independence and boldness to leave a stuck situation. Red Grevillea is beneficial for those who know they need to move on from situations that are not good for them, but are unable to instigate the changes required for them to move on.

Bauhinia Australian Flower Essence

To encourage the implementation of beneficial changes to diet and lifestyle, Bauhinia flower essence is the key remedy. Bauhinia helps to bring acceptance and open-mindedness and embracing new ideas, making it perfect to help with the transition to a more healthful lifestyle.

Using flower essences to promote emotional detoxification can both accelerate healing and promote a more balanced attitude to well being. Although a subtle healing therapy, flower essences do help us to transition through life challenges and are the perfect accompaniment to your Spring clean detoxification program.
